My first creative team layout in the Scrap Girls newsletter

For the last few years, my morning routine is to read the Scrap Girls Newsletter, as I enjoy my first cup of coffee.  I love to look at the beautiful layouts that are featured in the newsletter, get tips on how the artists did certain elements in their layouts and read the great muses and tutorials that are featured in the daily newsletter.  If you are looking for some Scrapping inspiration, I encourage you to sign up for the free newsletter.  You can find out more about it here.

I was so excited, as I read through today's newsletter to see one of my layouts featured - my very first as a Creative Design Team member.  I am over the moon with excitement!  You can find today's newsletter, here.

You can find my layout here in the Scrap Girls gallery. I used the below products:
    Sun Kissed Collection Biggie
    ScrapSimple Alpha Templates: Bent
    ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates: Fantastic Frames
    ScrapSimple Paper Templates: Curled Up
Assemble Your Own: Alpha Strings Biggie - White
ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Basic Shadows 6501

So excited to share some exciting news

    A little background:
When I started digital scrapbooking, a few years ago, I consider myself blessed to have found a great community to be apart of right from the start.  I lurked around Scrap Girls for a little while, admiring all of the talented designers, layout artists team members and digi-scrappers that belonged to that community.  Looking back now, at that time, I would have considered myself more of a digital scrapbook collector, than a digital scrapbooker.  Though, once I got over my fear of actually designing digital scrapbook pages - there was no stopping me.  I love using all of the wonderful creations from the talented designers to tell my families story.  It's important to me to capture those images and memories, so they can be treasured for years to come.

    And now the exciting news:
I am so excited to be able to share that I am now apart of the talented group of layout artist team members at Scrap Girls.  I join a great group of digi-scrappers.  I have admired their layouts for so long, they are very talented.  When I got the email yesterday, sharing the news that I had been selected to join the team - I jumped with excitement.  A dream of mine has come true.

So, you are going to see a lot more layouts from me here on the blog.  I will be sure to share more information about what products I used to design my page.  And if you are interested to learn more about digital scrapbooking, I would love for you to join me over at Scrap Girls.

    A daughter is (scrapbook page)

I am enjoying a quiet Sunday afternoon at home, so I had the opportunity to complete another layout for the guest creative team call over at mscraps. There are so many stunning and inspirational layouts entered for this call, I wouldn't want to be one of the judges.

    Your Color

I worked on another page for the mscraps CT call. I used Joyce Paul's beautiful Color Pop Collection for this layout.

    Little Smile

I was on a roll last night and got a second page completed. I love Aubrey's cheesy grin in this photo...one of my favorites.

I've been considering jumping back into P365 pages...or at least my version of P365. I think I might kick that off again in March.

    More scrapping

I'm so excited! I've tossed my name into the "hat" for a guest CT spot over at mscraps. The designers over there are just amazing and I love how well matched I am with their style. I'm on my way of beating my 2009 scrapping total and it's only February! Scrapping is fun again and mscraps as a lot to do with that.

This is the layout I submitted for consideration.

    Some more recent pages

A girl and her kitty - scrapbook page

I've wanted to do a page about Hunter and her kitty for the longest time. And a goal of mine for 2010 is to scrap some older photos/memories. She loved her kitty and it had to come everywhere she did.

    Smallest Things

I participated in the template challenge over at MScraps. MScraps is celebrating it's grand opening. I have been blown away by the amazing talent of the designers in their store. I'm so excited to have found this site right from the beginning.

Here is my page for the challenge, I scrapped an older picture of Hunter. She was just over a year old in their picture and remains to be one of my favorites.

    Still here

Wow, I can't believe my last post on the blog was sometime in September! Sorry for the long absence. This poor blog has been neglected long enough, time to bring it back to life. I started this blog as a way to share Messmer Family news with family and friends and anyone else who would like to read about my little family, time to recommit to that goal.

I know that today is the last day of January, but let me talk a little about New Years Resolutions. I'm not a fan of them, so I don't make them. I do however, make goals for myself (OFTEN..haha!) My word/goal for 2010 is Self-love. I want to keep this theme in the front of my mind throughout the year. I tend to put myself to the last spot on my long list and end up paying the price for it (as so does my family). It's true what they say, I've got to take care of me so I will be better able to take care of those around me and those I love.

So, some of the ways I'm focusing on Self-love are...
    *Getting more sleep
*Exercise regularly (I'm happy to share that I've lost 12lbs since late December and can fit into smaller jeans again...no stopping me now...haha!)
*Making time to enjoy my hobbies (digi scrapping and photographing my children)
*Not stressing over the things I can't control
    *Balance between work and play

I've completed some new scrapbook pages recently (click on the image to enlarge it).

    Thanks for looking

    Scrapbook Page: Daddy's Remote

It feels good to complete a scrapbook page. Life has been so busy between work, caring for the girls and having photo sessions (things are going very well with Messmer Photography and I couldn't be happier). But with all of that, I haven't had much time to enjoy one of my favorite hobbies...digi scrapping. I still need to complete my August monthly layout and since September is almost over, I have that one to do as well. I'm still going with the SG 52 (or my version of it) and am excited that at the end of the year, I will have a scrapbook with layouts from the whole year. I've enjoyed looking back at how much the girls have grown.

This page is dedicated to Jayson's TV remote control. When Hunter wants to watch TV downstairs, she will ask to watch "daddy's TV". As with most men, the remote in our household is controlled 99.99% of the time by Jayson (love you honey). I'm not sure where he was on the day Aubrey found the remote lying around, but I was right behind her with the camera to capture her enjoying time playing with daddy's remote....LOL!

Thank you to ChristinaP from Scrapbird for allowing me to be apart of her creative team for her new kit, Lazy Daisy. I had a lot of fun and think her kit is perfect for this picture of Hunter.

And this page of Aubrey, was for a scraplift challenge over at Scrapgirls. My inspiration came from ChristyVW, Caught me a beauty.
