My girls - new pictures have been posted.

Hey friends and family, I posted a couple pictures of Hunter and Aubrey on my photography blog. Be sure to visit, www.messmerphotonews.com to take a look. If you come by, I would love for you to leave a comment (or two).

    Have a great day!

Enjoyed the first day of spring

We had a great day! This morning, Jayson and I did some spring cleaning around the house. And this afternoon, we took the girls to the park and enjoyed the first day of spring. The girls had a BLAST, playing and running around.

Hunter enjoyed climbing around on the play sets and going down the slides. She doesn't care for the swings much.

And though it looks like she is either in pain or unsure of the swing...don't be fooled. Aubrey is actually saying 'cheese' in this picture (because I had the camera pointed at her...LOL). She LOVED the swing and spent more than 20 minutes in it, laughing and enjoying herself. When she wasn't swinging, she was trying out the slide and going around hugging the other little kids.

    The Sun is Out

Thank goodness March is finally here. I know February is the shortest month of the year, but man did this past month seem to drag on and on! I hope that with the passing of Feb 2010, old man winter is done with the major snow fall. The sun is out again today and the big snow piles are starting to melt...yippy! We are expecting a pretty nice weekend. I am itching to get back outside and do some shooting! I have a fun session scheduled for this Sunday, but it's indoors. And then next week I'll be shooting my Janie and Jack sessions - these should be a lot of fun!

Tonight is card club night, so I get some mommy time out. I hope the cards are nicer to me than last month (I came in 2nd to last place). Tomorrow will be a busy day of final preparations for next week. And then my session on Sunday morning. In between that stuff, I need to get to the grocery, do laundry, load/edit some family photos and hopefully get my hair cut.

If you've read my blog for a while, you'll know that I use to show a lot of candid photos of my family on the blog, but I've gotten away from that. As a photographer, my goal is to take beautiful images for my clients. And while, I want beautiful images of my own girls as well - I haven't been taking a lot of everyday memories of them recently....and as a mom, I want those one's too! So, look for the return of candid (not so perfect, because life isn't always perfect) photo's of the Messmer group here on my family/scrapping blog.

Oh and in case you are curious...I'm sad to report that I didn't get picked for the either of the two creative team (CT) calls, I applied to recently. There are so many talented ladies out there!! I enjoyed the process of submitting my applications and will continue to keep my eye out for CT calls that interest me. And of course, I'll continue to spend time scrapping and sharing those layouts on the blog. I recently looked back at some of my first digi scrapping pages and boy have I come a long way with the look of my pages...LOL!

    Still here

Wow, I can't believe my last post on the blog was sometime in September! Sorry for the long absence. This poor blog has been neglected long enough, time to bring it back to life. I started this blog as a way to share Messmer Family news with family and friends and anyone else who would like to read about my little family, time to recommit to that goal.

I know that today is the last day of January, but let me talk a little about New Years Resolutions. I'm not a fan of them, so I don't make them. I do however, make goals for myself (OFTEN..haha!) My word/goal for 2010 is Self-love. I want to keep this theme in the front of my mind throughout the year. I tend to put myself to the last spot on my long list and end up paying the price for it (as so does my family). It's true what they say, I've got to take care of me so I will be better able to take care of those around me and those I love.

So, some of the ways I'm focusing on Self-love are...
    *Getting more sleep
*Exercise regularly (I'm happy to share that I've lost 12lbs since late December and can fit into smaller jeans again...no stopping me now...haha!)
*Making time to enjoy my hobbies (digi scrapping and photographing my children)
*Not stressing over the things I can't control
    *Balance between work and play

I've completed some new scrapbook pages recently (click on the image to enlarge it).

    Thanks for looking

My poor little blog has been neglected for some time now, but just wanted to let you know that I am still here. I am working on a scrapbook page and editing some pics of the girls that I haven't had a chance to get to yet and came across this one of Aubrey, isn't she just too cute for words?!

    A trip to Hocking Hills

Yesterday, Jayson and I took the girls and headed to Hocking Hills for some fun in the outdoors.  It really was a beautiful day.  Hunter enjoyed herself as well and wanted to walk on her own the majority of the time.  I tried to get as many pictures as I could, but that task wasn't easy with a toddler and infant in tow.  So, Jayson and I hope to take a trip back just the two of us so we can take some more pictures and enjoy a longer walk through the hills.

Here are a few pictures from our trip.

    Atlanta Trip: Post #3

The Titanic Aquatic Exhibit was there at the aquarium.  Though, I had seen the exhibit before, it was still sobering to walk through the artifacts of the Titanic and to read about that fateful night and the people who lived to talk about it and those that didn't.

This is the skeleton of a whale, though I'm sure which one.  Amazing, isn't it?

And, I couldn't forget to get a picture of Nemo for Hunter!

    Atlanta Trip: Post #2

On Monday night, I got to enjoy a wonderful evening at the Atlanta Aquarium as a guest of ADP.  While, we ate dinner, we could watch all the beauty of the marine life behind us...it was amazing!  Here are some of the pictures I captured throughout the night.

Yes, this is a whale shark.  There were actually two of them in the aquarium, along with a hammer-head shark, many sting rays and loads of other fish.

A few more pics to come...

    Atlanta Trip: Post 1

I was in Atlanta earlier this week for a work conference.  Though, I missed being at home with the family - the conference was productive and the evening events were a lot of fun.  Our Monday evening event was held at the Atlanta Aquarium (I'll be posting those pics next) and Tuesday night we got to hang out at Coca-Cola.  Both nights, ADP rented out the entire place just for us.  The food was fabulous, the beverages were refreshing and everything was just a lot of fun.

The Coca-Cola Polar Bear made an appearance at our event.  He was so adorable and very animated.  I managed to snap a couple pics of him before my camera battery died.  I took my mom's point and shoot, since it could fit inside my purse.  Time and time again, I wished for my faster and bigger D80.  Though, I won't complain about the pics I was able to get with the p/s, it did a good job.

We were sitting in the movie room watching older commercials, etc..  And the bear joined us.  He had the best seat in the house!

And a quick pose for the camera.

    Catching up

I feel like I've been ignoring the blog a bit and I'm sorry.  It's amazing how quickly the days go by.  I try to slow things down, but as a working mom of two little girls, I think that's just wishful thinking.

Jayson got a new truck on Monday - a Honda Ridgeline....it's pretty!  We were busy over the weekend car shopping.  We visited multiple dealerships and it was exhausting, but in the end everything worked out.

Last night, we went to the OSU Men's Basketball game.  It was such a good game and we won!  Mom sat with the girls for us and had a scary night.  Hunter had an accident and fell down the stairs and of course, it freaked mom out, as it would have me if I were home.  Luckily, Hunter is fine and doesn't even have a scrap or scratch on her....Hunter is doing better than mama.  Mom, know that it could have happened to any of us and she is fine.  It's okay!

Here is a recent picture of the little trooper :)  Can you believe, I even got good eye contact from her?!

    Aubrey is 6 months old

I truly can't believe that my "baby" is 6 months old already!  And boy can this little girl move...lol.  She rolls and scoots around the living room, like she has places to go and people to see.  Kim even told me that she is walking in the walker.  She goes to the doctor on Monday, so I'll have all the stats next week.

    Just sharing

I wish I could bottle up the energy of this little girl!!  She is becoming quite the entertainer.  She is often dancing, singing or the combination of the two.  And she loves to play music.

One of her favorite sayings these days is "miss you much".  It melts my heart to hear her say that when I drop her off at Kim's in the morning.
